30 Comments 20 August 2010

Wow, it seems like the moment our family has been waiting for has taken FOREVER to get here!!  TLC has just announced the series premiere date, the new official name of the show, and we are thrilled, thrilled, and more thrilled with the way everything is developing!  First – the title:  “Quints by Surprise”…yay!!  Second – the date:  August 30th at 9:00pm Central…double yay!!!  Finally – yes, this is a series, not just a one time deal which makes the show on the 30th the series premiere…you know what’s next:  triple yay!!!!!   I don’t know if I can say how many episodes are planned at the moment or how many have been filmed so I won’t say, but I will tell you that they don’t call it a series for nothing!!

Wow, it has been a wild, crazy, fun, super-sized kind of summer for our family with cameras in tow most every step of the way!  Honestly, it has been a little frustrating to not be able to tweet or blog about all of our adventures which makes the airing of the new shows all the more exciting for us!  So set your dvr’s and mark your calendars for the premiere of “Quints by Surprise” on TLC!!!

God bless,

Ethan

I am happy for the Jones family. I hope the new series becomes everything you want it to be. Becareful to not let it be destructive to your lives living in the public eyes. We all know how hard it is just to step outside with multiples. I am the father of the Jones Quad Squad. We just celebrated our 5th birthday. I hope this finds you and your family well. I would love to talk to you about my newly created non-profit C called http://www.maddaddy.org – multuples and dads, A healthy survival guide for new dad’s of twins, triplets, quadruplets and more.

My goal is to get enough votes to win the Pepsi Refresh challenge. I plan on submitting the project for votes on October 1st.

As you know dad’s lose their voice during pregnancy, and it is just muliplied in the higher order pregnancy. The maddaddy project is about helping dads have a voice, a place to offer the do’s, don’t’s, did’s and Yikes for dads of muliples.

The site will also offer financial planning and budgeting tools for suviving multiples along with crisis funing for dads when a financial crisis occurs.

Anyway, I would really love to speak with you about this and see if you would be you interested in being an advocate for this to help get the grass roots effort together for getting out the votes in October to win the start up captial through the Pepsi Refresh challenge.

    Best regards,

Dwayne Jones (Father of 5 year old Quadruplets)

Congratulations! Being from Austin myself, I’m happy to see a great Texas family represent my home city & state! Especially since my husband is a Navy pilot and we’re stationed on the other side of the world. Watching your show brings me a little piece of home. Can’t wait to see what your adventures bring you. :)

  7. Valerie says:

i’m so happy for you guys! it will be so neat to have the shows to look back on when the kids are older, because Lord know yall don’t have time to be getting out your video camera at each milestone!!!
i am praying that this continues to be a BLESSING for yall and not a curse (like the gosselins!!) i wish great things for you and your family!!

  8. KS Dallas says:

Congrats!! I don’t have cable, but will see if I can get my BF to record it for me. :o)

  9. Beejcctx says:

PLEASE do not allow yourselves to be changed by this blessing of money (and potential fame) – see how another family has been harmed. Other families have balanced themselves on the celebrity tightrope – be true to yourselves and your family.

PLEASE also pray whether you are _exploiting_ your children or selling their childhoods for the highest bidder. Are they just being allowed to be normal or do you have to keep re-doing a scene with them?

It’s supposed to be natural…make sure it stays that way for YOUR FAMILY.

    Prays to all!

  10. Jan Spencer says:

Please please please be careful. Don’t end up like Kate Gosselin.

  18. Ginny says:

I am screamming so loud, it is finally going to happen. Prayers and belief in all that is good has made this happen for you. I cannot wait to follow the family throug lifes journay whatever it may be on a daily basis and watch you both lead your family in a good honest way. No threatening, tricking or demanding like the other multiple show, you instead will follow your path like the Duggars and teach your children compassion and caring for all Gods people. Congratulations and I will be stuck to the TV everytime you are on.

  19. Elizabeth says:

There is one thing I get out of this blog that Ethan is straight forward and honest.
Knowing that I can get an honest answer and just out of curiosity I hope you can share and explain what is your main reason for doing the show and what motivates you to put your family on a reality TV? How is your show is going to be different from all the other multiple babies shows that is out there now? What is your show going to do differently to keep the viewers interested? Will you protect the babies privacy and not allow bathing, bathroom and changing scenes as other multiply babies shows have done, causing embarrassment to the babies when they get older. I hope you receive strength from God and He guides you to this this show right and not let the money and fame change your family. You must stay strong!!!!

  20. Tonya says:

I will be watching I saw the first episodes Loved it..Congratulations on the show..

  21. Celeste Scheihing-Seidenfus says:

I cannot begin to tell you that I know what you are going through with having quints. But I can share my journey with my daughter, born early with a rare disorder. She is 8 years old and has had 62 surgeries to date. She also has had the DOC band – 4 of them in fact…. 5 cranial vault reconstructions. I know the idea of your child wearing one is scary and will make you catch your breath. But believe me I have been there…. I am on facebook and would love to share more of her story if knowing the road I have travelled will make yours seems a little more nanagable. I am a family practice nurse and full time mom to my daughter and medically fragile foster children. Cranio babies are one of kind and support of parents is important. Please let me know if you would like to “chat” Celeste’ I can give you my number if you want to contact me. or we can through the email… Good luck to you.

  22. Robin says:

    You’re DVR’d!

I’m a TV star too ;-) I was on an episode of Ask This Old House in its first season. HAHA.

  25. Heidi says:

My mom introduced me to your show this weekend, and I just want to say you are such a refreshing family and I’m so glad TLC has agreed to offer you a show. You are so refreshing compared to Kate Plus 8. It is so great to see a hardworking family trying to make it and with many children!!! God Bless you and looking forward to watching your show. Sic Em Bears!!!

  26. Ronnee says:

What a beautiful family. Eliot steals the show. Watch out for that one-she loves the camera. Future superstar? Good luck to you all. Ignore the negative, count your blessings, all 6 of them.

  27. Annie says:

I am currently watching your show on TLC. First and foremost all of your children are beautiful. Secondly, the part where Ethan said some women are made to be mothers and told you he wanted more children on mothers day was awesome– most men don’t share wonderful feelings like that. I find you all so inspirational and great parents. I have been dating my boyfriend since I was 17, I am now 21 and just waiting for the day to start my life with him. Cheers to you for keeping a great relationship while throwing 5 blessings into the mix!– and while balancing Eliot through it all. Best wishes and God Bless. Annie (from Canada)

  28. Traci says:

I love love love your show!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  29. Crystina says:

I’ve become a HUGE fan of the show and your family is such an inspiration especially Miss Casey! I’m a new mom (my son James was born on September 4th of this year) and being on maternity leave and being with him all day is certainly a challenge. When I find myself becoming frustrated and a bit overwhelmed I just think of her and say to myself, “If she can get through every day struggles with 5 babies, I can handle one!” She deserves all the credit in the world for her amazing strength and patience.

    God Bless you all,

    Crystina & family
