“Too Many Babies?” Airs Tonight!!

49 Comments 04 March 2010

Set your clocks, Tivo’s, and DVR’s for “Too Many Babies?” which airs tonight at 7:00 central on Discovery Health!  I believe it airs at 8:00 on both the East and West coasts!  We have also been added to TLC’s lineup for March 16th at 9:00 Central and March 17th at 12:00 (midnight) Central!!  So exciting!!  Check the listings here:  TLC!

One quick caveat to the show:  the first few minutes dives deep into our fertility issues and you might end up having a biology lesson with your kids if they see it!

For more details on the show, check out Discovery Health’s website here:  Baby Week 2010!

I hope everyone enjoys the show!!

What a great show…I enjoyed it so much!! Are you going to have regular shows or updates? Since we lost the Gosselins I have been hoping for another fun show about multiples. I am a 68 year old Grandma and I so enjoy watching wonderful shows like yours!! I will be watching for more shows on your adorable babies and Big Sister.

I loved the show! I’m a big fan now and would love to see more!!!

  16. Sunny says:

I really looked forward to seeing your show. Your babies are very sweet, but Ethan, you did more complaining than anything. Even when Casey mentioned being thankful about two of the babies only needing helmets you couldn’t even be thankful for that. Reading your blog you sound really positive and upbeat and I saw none of that last night. It was a bummer because I had hoped your show might turn into a series like the Gosselins and now I can’t see that happening.

I have to question your family’s decision to make it publicly known that a sperm donor was used. Not that there’s a thing wrong with that (in fact I think it’s a very brave and selfless choice to make), but that should be something your kids learn about in the privacy of their home not with the public knowing all about it (especially Eliot’s classmates and their families). I hope things turn around for you and that you choose to be positive about all those babies you and your wife chose to have – they’re precious!

  17. Amy says:

Great special, great family. As a parent of 2-yr-old triplets, I can appreciate all your struggles (financial & emotional). Parents of multiples definitely feel a strain on their marriage, but most survive it. I also appreciate the parents honesty. We all miss our lives before multiples, and there is nothing wrong with vocalizing it. Some people will never understand!

  18. Iama says:

I enjoyed seeing the babies. I found the show cute but sad at the same time. Discovery Health sure focused in on every time the dad talked about his financial problems. Although not directly said, the editing made it seem like the sole purpose of this show was to look for donations from the viewers to help this family out. I think that the intent was to show the financial struggles that families endure when they have multiple babies but to me it did not come off that way. Ethan said that he and Casey were very blessed in the beginning of their marriage and they could buy whatever they wanted. Those who have been blessed will be blessed again, sometimes in a different focus than before. The first time they were blessed with money and this time they are blessed with babies. Things will work out for them from either the earnings from the show or the donations the community and viewers send.

  19. Sarah&Madison says:

Overall we enjoyed the show! It seemed to be actual “reality” television and Ethan and Casey handled themselves very well in front of the cameras. The show also emphasized just how cute those kids really are! Seriously, adorable!! I was a bit concerned that “letting God’s light shine” was not mentioned at all and the church’s influence on the family was not shown. However, we must realize that there were probably hours of church stuff and other things filmed and talked about. But as Ethan said, producers crammed 1 year into 1 hour. And it sounded like they had little say as to what went into the show and what stayed out. Having your family on TV seems like it has its pros and cons, but the show overall turned out well and it seems like the Jones family has many great supporters, including me and my daughter!!

  20. Tori says:

Sunny, have you ever heard of “editing?” Not to mention money is always the man’s biggest stress. ALWAYS. That’s REALITY. Jon and Kate bugged the crap out of me because it wasn’t real. Casey and Ethan are struggling to hang on to their house that they desperately need, while Jon and Kate were handed everything from the very beginning- notice how quickly they moved into a bigger home? Have you not read the blog from the beginning to get more background info? If not, you should- especially before judging.

As for the sperm donor part… It’s not anything to be ashamed of and speaks tons for Ethan’s character and love for his wife. So selfless. And anyway… Lot’s of children were conceived with donated sperm. Just some of us were married to the donors for a little while. :P

  21. Ana says:

I missed it!!! Even after I saw it in your emails too!! (Too many distractions.)

Are they going to replay it?

  22. Caroline says:

I loved “Too Many Babies?”! It was great. I am just curious to know if Ethan had to adopt the children since a sperm donor was used. I do not know how that works…

Great show. Great family. God Bless

  23. Stephanie says:

    Caroline,
Any children born during a marriage are considered the children of the husband unless stated otherwise, so no adoption would be necessary. Also, since the sperm donor is just that…a donor…he holds absolutely no parental rights.

I am not sure I would have revealed that on national tv, though. No shame in it, but it could bother the kids later.

  24. shirlie says:

Saw your delightful show on DC. What a great BIG sister Eliot is, she is a bouncy girl like my 7 year old Shaylee. We recentky moved from TX to NC. (not willingly, but ya gotta eat) and love seeing some Texas families. Your family is so wonderful and I applaud your willingness to give the world a glimpse. I hope there will be more episodes. And even if you did have to go to Baylor- Longhorn clothes are cool ! We would be happy to send some……God Bless.

  25. shirlie says:

saw the pics of the babies in their UT outfits I hope they have some that fit. The offer still stands. My grandson has been doing hook em” since he was a week old on his own.

  26. sarah says:

I would mention the show was financially driven.
Ethan can not seem to get past “how much things cost” and we think why have the babies then when you’re fully aware of what the financial costs are going to be in raising 6 kids?
Life is simple when you make it. But so complicated when you’re seeking MONEY. In this world there are a hell of a lot of families who are in need.

  27. Andria says:

Caught the show on DHC tonight! The babies are too cute. :)

  28. Tori says:

Sarah – Again… EDITING. They took everything Ethan said in a year and edited into 42 minutes.
Ethan mentioned that they could totally afford another baby or 2. They didn’t plan on 5 more. They didn’t implant 5 embryos or anything like that. They did insemination- just like with the ONE baby they conceived the 1st time. 5 babies at once when you’re expecting to have 1 or 2 more is a huge financial strain.

  29. Lauren says:

you all are wonderful, who wouldn’t feel that way I loved the realness of the episode and think that you and your precious children are beautiful, we are all in a tough spot right now and I can’t imagine having the strain of 6 children. You will make it and I hope you get everything you need from letting the world into your home. Keep in mind people will be quicker to judge now that jon and Kate crashed so bad but dont beat yourself up you are not them and you deserve it all!!! with all the love in the world, lauren

  30. Klin says:

Tori is the bomb. Too bad some folks just don’t understand. You guys are great and I loved the show. I would be addicted to watching you all – wait….isn’t that what I do online – anyway, if you get a show make sure they keep it real. Your family is great. I am so glad that they showed how Eliot was frustrated with the filming and that she is a great big sis. She looks like Casey.

Thank you for keeping God in your lives and sharing it with everyone. They don’t realize how much better life is – even when it’s hard – with God in our lives.

  31. stefanie says:

We live in a world where people who think they’re famous should not be. Your family is cute, but it was your families choice to be here at this time in this kind of world.

Reading over your disclosure and things in need your family seems like its greedy and selfish but then you contrast your website with God and church. That is not right. We all give thanks to God but in our each and every way we do not beg for money and mention it every chance we get.
Shoot gas cost money, being able to breathe cost money and going into this scenario you were aware what it would do to your pocketbook.

We do not feel sorry for you and your family. It cost money to have and bring kids into this world so suck it up and do your part.
    Stefanie

  32. Stevie says:

Stefanie-Everyone knows things are tough all over. We are not stupid. People are suffering and dying of starvation all over the world every second of the day. Many, many people have financial troubles, lose their homes, etc. Yes–having babies is expensive. Everyone knows that, too. Again–We are not stupid. This family had 5 unplanned babies at one time and lost their income. The theme of this particular show was how the event changed their lives and how difficult it is. It is a HUMAN INTEREST story. If you don’t get that and are not interested, you don’t need to watch.

  33. JonesLife says:

Stefanie – please send an email to joneslifeaustin@gmail.com if you would like your comments to be considered for posting. The email address you gave is not a working address. Thank you!

  34. Jayna P. says:

I saw your show last night and just had to see more of your family. I hope that the show will become a series- I am already hooked! How is the job situation? How about the house? You guys can’t move!!!!

  35. Nancy says:

I really enjoyed your show last night, it was really refreshing and enjoyable to watch. Please don’t take any take a lessons from Jon and Kate. Keep it real and you guys will be alright.

  36. Dennis Harris says:

Great show Eliot. Here is a name for your show …

    best wishes for success.

  37. Ingrid says:

    New name for your show . . . .

    KEEPING UP WITH THE JONES

  38. Dennis H. - Houston says:

Enjoyed the show as we have twins born in July ’09.

Here is a name for the show to consider . . . .

” KEEPING UP WITH THE JONES “

  39. Anni says:

I was so moved by your story…I dvrd the story “Too Many Babies” and “Septuplets…”. Sadly, I’m so incredibly moved by your story that I found I watched it several times this week–if you two can make it, there’s no excuse for my husband and I. I know that sounds pathetic, but I wanted you to know how much watching the two of you face the challenges you do is simply inspiring. The two of you, your struggles, you triumphs, and Casey, the way you describe Ethan as the man you’ve always wanted… you are truly inspiring. I pray it doesn’t take quints to bring us closer! The two we have are quite a handful…but I do hope that watching the show and experiencing your faith in one another will help me be a better person, wife, teacher, mother-someone he can be proud of. Thank you both, Anni

  40. Daniel says:

Awesome story, awesome Faith. Great job Ethan and Casey. It’s obvious you guys are the real deal, in your life and your marriage and your faith. Hopefully your show will become a permanent addition to the TLC lineup and God will touch many people through it. Just a word for Stefanie and the other naysayers. Maybe you should pick up the book, “For Women Only” by Shaunti Feldhan. In it you will learn that men have been wired by God to be the financial providers for their families. Ethan obviously takes that very seriously. He also shows that he is indeed human and in spite of his faith, sometimes the stress and worry of that “provider wiring”, rears its head. Give him a break, as the father of three myself, i can only imagine the weight that is on his shoulders. Way to go Jones’. Keep it up and give God the glory.

  41. Abbey says:

Wow…when I saw your show on TLC, I was so impressed and inspired! I immediately put on my fb page how I took a whole new perspective on my life juggling a 2 month old and a 2 year old! I honestly loved how real your family was and how honest and pure the show was. I hope to continue to see great things for you all!

  42. sandy says:

I was so worried about all of you during the show and so impressed with your outlook on life. I am so sorry that both of you have to worry about how to feed your family as well as how medical issues will be handled. Both of you remind me of how fortunate I am in these hard financial times. Thank you for opening up your life and doing the show. I loved it and hope for many wonderful blessing to come your way!

  43. Lori says:

I just saw your show for the first time tonight and wanted to commend you all on haw well you have been able to handle all God’s given you. I have a 10 month old and he also has the Docband from Cranial Technologies and he too, just like Jack has had to have two bands, but Amy has made to whole experience a positive one. Your family is in my prayers ever night:)

  44. Jennifer says:

    Ethan and Casey,

Thank you for sharing your story. I know that it has not been an easy road. However, I believe that God is in control of every detail of your life. Throughout your house I saw many signs of your faith and your blog speaks volumes of who, your provider is (Jesus). Ethan I would be disappointed if you were not concerned about the financial needs of your family, I was shocked to see how much it costs to support 5 babies. Please continue to be a light for this very dark world. The Word is very clear “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” Matthew 6:33. This scripture helped me through some of the toughest times in my life. Truly God blesses those who are faithful to Him and Love Him and who are called according to His purpose. Please do not let the negativity of the people in the World get you down.
Father God I ask that you would bless this family: with strength, wisdom, peace, joy, and finances that they need to provide for their family. Lord I pray that Ethan’s business will be very prosperous. Lord I pray that they will have favor and that people will do for them that which they would not normally do on their behalf. Thank you Lord for the blessing of the babies, I pray that you will bless them in health and in their lives that they will be a true testament to who You are. Thank you Jesus for your continuous love and guidance. In Jesus Name Amen.

  45. Brianne says:

I love your show I was just watching it today Britton is soooo cute and Jack is sooo funny I love Lila and Brooklyn ohhhhh my god I love her Ryan is such a cute kid and Eliot seemed to love it when you guys took her skating. Love the show.

  46. Monya says:

I so enjoy watching your family and am especially impressed at how respectful and loving the two of you are towards one another and towards Elli and your “babies.” You are fine examples of parents and spouses. It’s nice to finally see a multiples reality show where the Mom and Dad aren’t going off on each other or the kids. It’s nice to see your patience, common sense and love win out over what can sometimes be frustrating moments. Good for the Jones! I’m a fan.

  47. Linda says:

I can’t find any new episodes. Will you be back on TV soon. I so love your family and values.

  48. Dawn says:

    Dear Casey and Ethan,
I so loved your show tonight. You seem like such a happy couple and now God has blessed you with the babies. Your children are beautiful and Jack is a little sweetheart. LOL (poor kid with 5 sisters) May nothing but love and happiness come to the Jones family. I love your show and will positively cry if taken off. Love and best wishes to a special and sweet Christian family.
